It didnt look to be a part of the scheme the kids were making. I felt bad about the dad dying, but everything that happened to Grace and him was pretty clearly their fault. It was obvious that the mother’s spirit haunted the cabin. It’s also so bleak that I stopped finding it as engaging towards the end too. Truly, as soon as they come clean while she’s sitting out in the snow WITH HER DEAD DOG, I lost all sympathy for them.

3.5/5. Did NOT realize that the actress that played Grace is Elvis's granddaughter! Happens in all paranomal movies, one or the other character is just plain stupid and everything goes south cuz of this character. The story boils down to people making a series of decisions that make no sense, and the unbelievable stupidity of the characters really compounds on itself towards the back half.

Loved the movie, as a whole, but they failed to execute the ending well. I thought it'd be released in a decent amount of theaters, considering how high-profile the film is. Everybody in the film was great, especially Riley Keough and Lia McHugh. I get the ending is supposed to have shock value but such a small amount of time was spent talking about the prank. I hate the kids and feel for grace who really did seem determined to move forward from an awful childhood. Great movie I still think about it and thought it was better than midsommar but probably because i didnt think midsommar was a classic horror at all.
