It's a huge improvement to Goodnight Mommy, which was good, but only good to some term. New comments cannot be posted and votes cannot be cast. I liked it a lot I thought Riley keough did really well and Alicia silver stone and the children, Any other films like this it gave me very hereditary vibes I do think the directors were a little too influenced by him becauae they seemed to copy his exact style but I did enjoy the movie . I bet you searched for the lodge on this subreddit like I did. I'll take any movie with Hereditary vibes.
I can believe that the kids drugged Grace, hid all of their belongings, and printed a fake newspaper clipping of their death, but that scene took me out of it. Just as relations begin to thaw between the trio, some strange and frightening events take place. I am going to watch midsommar again today (hereditary I do not think I can watch again it really messed with me) any other films I should check ari aster better make another film soon, Hereditary was super freaking scary all the way up until the end when the cult was like welcoming the demon guy in, like "Hello demon, this is your vessel, welcome to earth, you're gonna usher in the end of days" and it was just so on the nose. If you haven't seen the film but would like to see the result of the poll click here. not the kids. The tension throughout the whole thing was driving me crazy. why wouldn’t the kid just flip the table at the end and go for the gun? I haven't seen midsommer yet, but this might be the best horror this year imo. I could just see a DM being like "well, now there's a massive demon incursions going on, because you guys had to spend the weekend in the stocks for trying to rob every shop in town and weren't there to stop it.
I haven't found any The Lodge review or discussion so I will assume it isn't out so I wont spoil. What was their end game?
I wish they revealed her full face at the Lodge instead of in the car ride. Can someone explain the part when Grace went up to her room, when they first got to the lodge and she went up stairs? In short I just wanted you guys to forget about this and tell you this is a very good one. A soon-to-be stepmom is snowed in with her fiancé's two children at a remote holiday village. I can believe that the kids drugged Grace, hid all of their belongings, and printed a fake newspaper clipping of their death, but that scene took me out of it. Thanks for the tip! Amazing rollercoaster of scenes, feeling, tension, everything. I certainly enjoyed the movie and would recommend. It’s had a crazy limited release for reasons unknown. It didnt look to be a part of the scheme the kids were making. I felt bad about the dad dying, but everything that happened to Grace and him was pretty clearly their fault. It was obvious that the mother’s spirit haunted the cabin. It’s also so bleak that I stopped finding it as engaging towards the end too. Truly, as soon as they come clean while she’s sitting out in the snow WITH HER DEAD DOG, I lost all sympathy for them.
3.5/5. Did NOT realize that the actress that played Grace is Elvis's granddaughter! Happens in all paranomal movies, one or the other character is just plain stupid and everything goes south cuz of this character. The story boils down to people making a series of decisions that make no sense, and the unbelievable stupidity of the characters really compounds on itself towards the back half.
Cookies help us deliver our Services. You want this to end soon and well, but at the same time you want to be there for a while more, know a bit further. Or in the attic when she had both hands off the gun and was setting the doll on fire and the kids could have snagged the gun?
Hereditary is my favorite out of the three but the Lodge is almost there.
You find he is an undercover agent that is being followed by a rival agency. The kids were still downstairs so it couldn't have been them. I loved the way it was filmed, too. When Regal doesn't show this in more cities.
I have seen it 20-30min ago, i m absolutely excited, this is a great to perfect horror movie. just more unrealistic crap in this movie. They're worse than that little boy in the Babadook. Just want to share my experience seeing The Lodge. My main question is: What the hell did the kids think was going to happen when their plan "worked"?
Press question mark to learn the rest of the keyboard shortcuts. the father and homewrecker were the evil ones. Loved how tense the film was. You are thrilled, excited, feeling fear, you hold every tissue of your clothes. As others are saying, you can definitely poke holes at aspects such as the dad inexplicably leaving the kids alone with Grace and the opportunities at the end to disarm her. Loved the movie, as a whole, but they failed to execute the ending well. I thought it'd be released in a decent amount of theaters, considering how high-profile the film is. Everybody in the film was great, especially Riley Keough and Lia McHugh. I get the ending is supposed to have shock value but such a small amount of time was spent talking about the prank. Probably my biggest pet peeve in the film was the scene where Aidan hung himself. R/HORROR, known as Dreadit by our subscribers is the premier horror entertainment community on Reddit.
In theaters Nov 15th https://www.imdb.com/title/tt7347846/. This is a must see, the story is very well structured, the pace is absolutely amazing, the tension. For more than a decade /R/HORROR has been reddit.com's gateway to all things Horror: from movies & TV, to books & games.
I just want to recommend this amazing movie to every horror movie lover. I'd love to hear everyone's thoughts on this - I don't see a whole lot of the film being discussed on here. It's hard to see it FREE with Regal Unlimited. I liked this movie but probably not as much as everyone else.
What Happens At The End Of The Lodge. Press question mark to learn the rest of the keyboard shortcuts. All in all, nobody needed to die if they hadn't been horror movie stupid. Seriously, fuck those kids. Regardless, it seemed beyond half-baked and probably warranted an explanation. I'd also go beserk if my dog froze to death. he was already old enough that due to his gender he could overpower her with ease. It almost would have been better if everyone lived and the kids got in trouble and she was just permanent fucked up. It's an hell of a ride, you call for a taxi, quiet night not much to expect but in a flash the taxi driver starts to drive over speed, every turn he doesn't break. Saw this movie last night and it disturbed my soul. Little slow burn, but it felt like “Hereditary-lite”, and I’m definitely not complaining. screenplay by Sergio Casci, Severin Fiala, Veronika Franz. Even in the beginning without any introduction I was already feeling stressed with the camera changing. Good job.". I enjoyed it.
That is why he doesn't stop to left you. Amazing rollercoaster of scenes, feeling, tension, everything.
I saw it on a festival. I don’t see a whole lot of the film being discussed on here.
I hate the kids and feel for grace who really did seem determined to move forward from an awful childhood. Great movie I still think about it and thought it was better than midsommar but probably because i didnt think midsommar was a classic horror at all.
